Having and not having arise together.

I am here

because you are there.

You are in my being,

I am in your presence.

Two beings are into each other.

You are in that place — an essential being.

I am here in this place — as my nature.

We are living together as the essence of each other’s existence.

So you are your being, your essence.

I am becoming my nature.

This is the reason you are.

This is why I am myself.

Notice the complement.

In its original form it is in relation to opposites:

easy is only in difficulty—

difficult becomes easy, easy becomes difficult.

They relate as one.

Or, what location would be ahead?

Which place is essentially behind?

Standing in front of each other and standing behind,

they are open to each other indefinitely.

They are twisted together,

becoming one.

This is the original state.

있음과 없음이 하나로 생겨난다.

거기에 그대가 있기에

여기에 내가 있음이여.

그대가 나의 존재 안으로

내가 그대의 존재 안으로,

서로 다른 존재가 서로의 내면 속으로.

그대는 그 자리에서 그 존재만큼의 본질적인 그것으로,

나는 이 자리에서 이 만큼의 내 본성의 존재로,

서로의 존재의 근거가 되어 공존하고 있음을...

그리하여 그대는 그대다운 그대가 되며

나는 나다운 내가 되고 있다.

그대가 그대인 이유,

내가 내 자신인 이유가

여기에 있다.

비로소

반대편 것과의 관계 속에서

그것이 되고 있다.

쉬움은 어려움 속에서만이

비로소 쉬움이 되고

어려움도 쉬움 속에서만이

비로소 어려움이 된다.

어떤 것이 본질적으로 앞이겠는가!

또 어떤 것이 근본적으로 뒤이겠는가!

앞서거니 뒤서거니

서로를 향해 무한히 열려있나니.

서로 섞이면서 꼬이면서

하나가 되어가면서

비로소 그것이 된다.
